In principle, a lipoma does not require any treatment, as it is a benign growth of adipose tissue cells that usually does not cause any symptoms, only degenerates in a few exceptional cases and often even resolves itself spontaneously. That is why most lipomas are left in the body and only operated if they represent a major cosmetic burden for the person concerned or cause pain. Many patients who do not want to undergo an "unnecessary" operation for the reasons mentioned above, but who still find a lipoma troublesome, resort to homeopathic remedies. The idea behind this form of treatment is that the fatty tumors arise from the fact that the fatty tissue of those affected is excessively contaminated with toxins and metabolic end products, whereupon it reacts with cell overgrowth, as this type of tissue is one of the weak points in the human body. So it should help if you detoxify (purify) the body in general. This can be done with the help of a balanced healthy diet, fasting, and avoidance of psychological and environmental stress.

Homeopathic treatment

However, since this would take too long as "individual therapy", additional homeopathic preparations can be prescribed, which are in no way intended to replace a healthy lifestyle, but only to supplement it. A commonly used remedy is Baryta Carbonica (made of barium carbonate), which is also used in arteriosclerosis is used. It is supposed to detoxify the affected fat cells and support them in their regeneration. This is supposed to make the lipoma smaller over a period of several months until it finally disappears completely after one or several years, depending on its original size.

Chances of success with a homeopathic treatment of lipoma

However, since there are still no reliable studies on the success of these homeopathic forms of therapy in the treatment of lipomas and, above all, one is not yet sure about the cause of the formation of lipomas, it is still questionable whether homeopathy is a suitable measure to successfully treat lipomas.
