Long thigh tightener
Latin: M.. adductor longus

- to the musculature overview
introduction
The long thigh puller follows the pectineus muscle in the superficial layer of the thigh adductors. In terms of shape, it resembles a long triangular plate.
Its muscle fibers spread fan-shaped downwards, outwards.
Other thigh adductors:
- Comb muscle (M. pectineus)
- Short thigh tightener (M. adductor brevis)
- Big Thigh Beater (M. adductor magnus)
- Slim muscle (M. gracilis)
Approach, origin, innervation
Approach: Bony reinforcement strip on the back of the thigh bone (Linea aspera)
Origin: Below the hump of the pubic bone (Ramus superior ossis pubis)
Innervation: N. obturator
How is the muscle trained / contracted?
The long thigh beater (Adductor longus muscle) is trained in weight training with the following exercise:
- Adductor machine
For more information, see Weight Training
How is this muscle stretched?
The following stretches apply to these muscles:
- Comb muscle (M. pectineus)
- Long thigh tightener (M. adductor longus)
- Short thigh tightener (M. adductor brevis)
- Big Thigh Beater (M. adductor magnus)
- Slim muscle (M. gracilis)
There are two ways to stretch the inner thigh. The athlete stands at double shoulder width, toes pointing forward. The body weight is shifted to one side so that the thigh of the side to be stretched is almost fully stretched. The upper body should be kept as upright as possible.
The second variant is done while sitting. The soles of both feet touch while the knee joints are pushed towards the floor.
see stretching for more information
function
The function of the long thigh tightener is an adduction (bring it sideways to the body) in the hip joint. It also supports the comb muscle during external rotation.
